Real Betis seals drought-breaking Champions League spot
Real Betis secured qualification for the Champions League for the first time in 21 years, via a 2-1 win over Elche.
Goals either side of the break to Cucho Hernandez and Pablo Fornals were enough for Manuel Pellegrini's men to see off Elche, which was reduced to 10 men after Leo Petrot was sent off early in the second half.
Betis took full advantage, securing the win and opening up an unassailable seven-point lead of sixth-placed Celta Vigo with two matches remaining.
Earlier in the day, Celta lost a five-goal thriller to relegation-battler Levante, all but ending its hopes of qualifying for Europe's premier club competition.
