Florentino joins Burnley on permanent basis
Burnley has completed the permanent signing of Florentino Luis from Benfica after having the player on loan since 2025.
Florentino spent the 2025-2026 season on loan at Turf Moor, but he could not help Burnley avoid an immediate return to the EFL Championship.
The midfielder made 31 Premier League appearances for the Clarets, with 25 of those coming as starts.
Despite Burnley's relegation, the obligation for Florentino to join them permanently has been triggered.
The 26-year-old is now set to remain at Burnley as it aims to make it back into the Premier League, although the Clarets have not yet appointed a replacement for manager Scott Parker, who departed towards the end of the campaign.
