Paik Seung-Ho winner keeps Birmingham unbeaten
Birmingham City remains unbeaten in the EFL Championship after Paik Seung-Ho's first-half goal secured a 1-0 win over Oxford United, which has now suffered three straight defeats.
Paik Seung-Ho struck in the 40th minute, but despite controlling possession for large parts of the game, the Blues couldn't find another goal.
But it mattered not as they saw out another win after victory at Blackburn Rovers last week and an opening-day draw against Ipswich Town.
Manager Chris Davies was more than happy with the result, which sees Birmingham sitting in firth spot with a group of other unbeaten sides at this early stage.
"I thought we handled the game really well," he said.
"We were the better team, got control, created lots of chances, and I was really encouraged by the performance again.
"We were aware of previous games where maybe we have gone 1-0 up and started to sit back a little bit. But I tried to reinforce to the players at half-time that we wanted to try and continue to score the second goal and not just protect the lead.
"It was all in [Oxford's] half, I think they had a couple of breakaways, but I thought we managed the game well."
