Kerber eyes revenge against Muguruza
Garbine Muguruza has dominated Angelique Kerber this year and the German is eager to change that.
Angelique Kerber wants revenge against Garbine Muguruza in their meeting at the WTA Finals in Singapore.
Spaniard Muguruza has claimed three wins over the German this year, including at the French Open and Wimbledon.
After a 6-2 7-6 (7-3) win over Petra Kvitova to start her Finals campaign, Kerber had already turned her attention to Muguruza.
"I've lost against her three times this year so I will try and take my revenge and go out to win the match against her for sure," she said.
"She's played unbelievably good tennis.
"She's had an amazing year this year so I will try to play my tennis like I played today against Petra and it's good I've had one match before playing her."
Kerber broke Kvitova's serve five times in her win on Monday, and she lost just two points on serve in the first set.
The 27-year-old said she would take several positives from her victory.
"The win against Petra will, for sure, give me a lot of confidence to go into the next match I will play here," Kerber said.
"But also I am feeling good, I'm still healthy, it's the last tournament so I really want to use all the energy I have left for all the matches I'll play here.
"So, I'm looking forward to the next one."
