Comeback win pleases Murray
Belief and confidence is high for Andy Murray after his comeback victory at the Western and Southern Open.
Andy Murray believes his ability to turn matches around will hold him in good stead ahead of the US Open after a comeback win over Grigor Dimitrov.
The British world number two saved a match point and rallied from behind in the second and third sets in his 4-6 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 victory at the Western and Southern Open on Thursday.
Murray, who won the Rogers Cup on Sunday, found himself trailing the Bulgarian 4-1 in the second set and 5-2 in the third, but fought his way back in an entertaining third-round contest in Cincinnati.
"If you want to win the big competitions, you'll have to come through difficult situations," he was quoted as saying by the ATP World Tour website.
"Last year, I didn't come through enough of them. I lost a lot of matches from winning positions and this year I managed to turn that around, which was very positive."
Dimitrov had his chances, but whenever he looked in control he allowed Murray a way back into a match he should have won.
The world number 17 was still taking plenty of positives from the match.
"I was happy with the way I played at least, but that's about it," Dimitrov said.
"I had too many opportunities. That's the only thing. If that you have many and you don't I want to say that's about it.
"Everything else felt pretty good. The body held up well for three hours, so good things ahead."
