Garbine Muguruza says her performances at the WTA Finals have proven she can cope with pressure moments in big matches.

The Spaniard fell short of reaching the final in Singapore after putting in a valiant showing in a 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 7-5 defeat to Agnieszka Radwanska in Saturday's semi-final.

It has been a year to remember for Muguruza, who reached the final of Wimbledon and won the China Open title.

She was one of the form players coming into the Finals and defeated Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber and Lucie Safarova in the group stages.

The Spaniard, also playing the doubles with Carla Suarez Navarro, admits fatigue played a part against Radwanska but says she has plenty to take away from her debut visit to the Finals.

"I was obviously tired from yesterday [Friday] against Kvitova, but I think was very tough match," she said. "I think Aga played very good. You know, I am just a little bit disappointed obviously to lose. I think was like two or three points the key.

"But I'm happy. I did an amazing effort and I'm proud of how I played here all the matches.

"I just wanted to give everything I had, and it doesn't matter how long I was going to be able to keep it. I just went out there, and if I die on the court, I die, but at least I go out from there happy.

"I learn that I'm able to, in the bad situations, you know, to calm down, and like I said before, clear my mind and start from zero. I learnt that I'm more strong than I thought in these moments.

"This year is going to be a great experience for me. Hopefully it can help me next year, especially in the tough moments that I've lived this year, to go through."
