Vettel fastest in final practice as Mercedes struggle
Sebastian Vettel enjoyed a stellar final practice at the Singapore Grand Prix, while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg toiled.
Ferrari duo Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen dominated final practice at the Singapore Grand Prix, while defending champion and standings leader Lewis Hamilton could only manage fifth.
Vettel - a three-time winner on this circuit - posted a leading mark of one minute, 45.682 seconds – a whopping 1.120secs faster than Hamilton's best effort.
Raikkonen finished second behind his Ferrari team-mate, while third and fourth places went to the Red Bull duo of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo respectively.
Hamilton, who had gone second and fourth fastest in Friday's two practice sessions, was complaining about the handling of his Mercedes.
With their bid for pole under serious threat from the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull, the constrctors' championship leaders insisted they were not holding anything back ahead of qualifying later on Saturday.
"There is no hiding the potential here," Mercedes tweeted. "The pace of our rivals is genuine - and very quick."
Behind Rosberg in sixth, McLaren's Fernando Alonso put in stunning performance to take seventh, although his team-mate Jenson Button could only manage 13th.
