Reports: Zidane to become next France manager
Zinedine Zidane is set to be appointed as the next head coach of the French national team, according to reports circulated on Sunday.
The former France captain and Real Madrid manager has reportedly already assembled his backroom staff, with the formal signing of contracts and administrative paperwork expected to be completed later this month.
Although Zidane has yet to be officially appointed, he has long been regarded as the natural successor to Didier Deschamps.
Deschamps announced earlier this year that he will step down as France coach after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ending a tenure that began in 2012.
If appointed, Zidane will inherit one of international football’s most talented squads. His biggest challenge is expected to be less about finding quality players than building a cohesive system capable of bringing the best out of them as a team.
