Mostafa Ziko opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Omar Marmoush doubled Egypt’s lead four minutes into the second half. It was Marmoush’s first goal in a competitive international match since he scored for Manchester City against Crystal Palace on 13 May.

Egypt seal convincing victory over South Sudan
Egypt secured a valuable 5-0 victory over hosts South Sudan in the second round of Group B matches in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ibrahim Adel extended Egypt’s advantage in the 75th minute, finishing after a brilliant pass from Marwan Attia to make it 3-0 to the Pharaohs.
Marmoush then returned to the scoresheet in the 83rd minute to make it four for Egypt.
In the second minute of stoppage time, substitute Barcelona forward Hamza Abdelkarim completed the scoring with Egypt’s fifth goal, marking his first international goal for his country.
Egypt moved to four points while keeping another clean sheet, having drawn 0-0 with Angola in their opening match.
