King of the Mountains Majka on the move
Polish cyclist Rafal Majka will join the re-branded Bora-Hansgrohe team when his time at Tinkoff comes to an end.
Two-time Tour de France polka dot jersey winner Rafal Majka has agreed to join Bora-Hansgrohe for the 2017 season.
The 26-year-old Pole has been racing for Tinkoff, who are set to disband when their owner's involvement in the sport ends at the conclusion of this season.
Majka was the 'King of the Mountains' - the best climber - at the Tour in 2014 and this year's event when he finished 79 points clear of Lotto-Soudal's Thomas De Gendt.
Having also claimed bronze in the men's Olympic road race in Rio de Janeiro, he will join countryman Pawel Poljanski in signing for Bora-Argon, who will rebrand as Bora-Hansgrohe next year.
"With Rafal Majka we signed a rider who is able to finish a Grand Tour in the top five," Bora team manager Ralph Denk said in a statement on the team's website.
"As an add-on, our young, German speaking talents ... will take advantage, learn from his experience and improve their performance in order to be able to finish a Grand Tour in the top ten in the future."
Majka and Poljanski follow in the footsteps of world champion Peter Sagan in signing for Bora-Hansgrohe for 2017.
