India - South Africa Twenty20 series finale called off
South Africa were denied the chance to complete a Twenty20 series whitewash over India due to the inclement weather at Eden Gardens.
The Twenty20 series finale between India and South Africa was called off due to rain in Kolkata on Thursday.
South Africa had already clinched the three-match series and were seeking to inflict a whitewash on the hosts at Eden Gardens.
Three pitch inspections took place after the rain had stopped, with the umpires eventually ruling that the outfield had not dried sufficiently enough for play to take place.
The two teams will now contest a five-match one-day series, which starts on Sunday, before facing off in four Test matches.
