Bailey unconvinced by Australia
Australia might have made the final for the tri-series, but vice-captain George Bailey remains unconvinced by his team.
Australia vice-captain George Bailey is hoping his side has saved their best for last in the Caribbean as they prepare for Monday's one-day international tri-series final against either hosts West Indies or South Africa, because he is not convinced the Aussies have played a good game yet.
None of the three sides involved could argue they have had a complete series, but Australia have fared the best, booking their spot in the final with three wins from six matches, losing two and the other a non-result after their third fixture against South Africa was abandoned due to rain.
And while Australia have looked the goods at times, Bailey remains unconvinced.
"I still don't think we've played a really great game of cricket," he said.
"It was nice to get a win [in the final preliminary game] and have a couple of days off. We came here to play in a final so we're pretty happy we've ticked that off.
"I guess [the inconsistent results] shows the quality of opposition and I don't think you play the great all-round game all that often.
"But certainly in terms of this Tri-Series and the way this tournament has been building, to have that up our sleeve for a final will be great.
"Individuals have played really well, there's just a few little things we're trying to do as a team [that are not working]."
Australia find out their opponent on Friday, when the Windies take on South Africa in the final preliminary game of the series.
And Bailey says everyone in the team is hungry to improve and deliver Australia's best performance when it counts most.
"There's been plenty of good things, but not really a really defining game for us," he said.
"The nature of this team and the nature of the individuals, even watching that little session there, there's a fair bit of aggro going on.
"There's some competitive boys and we like to win."
