Thompson, Gordon headline NBA All-Star skill competitions
Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson is back to defend his title as the three-point contest champion in New Orleans.
NBA All-Star weekend has always been about the fans, and they will be in for a treat this year with a host of intriguing players participating in the skills challenges.
Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson is back to defend his title as the three-point contest champion.
He will square off against Kyrie Irving, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker, Eric Gordon, Wesley Matthews, C.J. McCollum and Nick Young at the All-Star event, starting on February 17 in New Orleans.
Aaron Gordon electrified the crowd in the NBA slam dunk contest last year before controversially being named runner-up.
The Orlando Magic star is back in the mix this year, but two-time reigning champion Zach LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves will not contend.
Gordon instead will face off against DeAndre Jordan, Glenn Robinson III and Derrick Jones Jr.
Jones is a little-known commodity as an NBA player, but he is an explosive dunker who will likely give Gordon his biggest challenge.
The skills challenge field consists of Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Gordon Hayward, Isaiah Thomas, John Wall, Devin Booker, Kristaps Porzingis and Joel Embiid.
