Spurs extend winning streak, Bulls fall again
The San Antonio Spurs have won nine straight games after beating the Detroit Pistons, while the Chicago Bulls lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The San Antonio Spurs continued their great run of form by holding off the Detroit Pistons 109-99 in the NBA on Tuesday.
Led by Tony Parker's 31 points and LaMarcus Aldridge's 22 points and 13 rebounds, the Spurs overcame the in-form Pistons for a ninth consecutive win.
Manu Ginobili contributed 15 points and veteran Spurs team-mate Tim Duncan added 14 points and nine rebounds on the road.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (25 points) and Andre Drummond (17 points, 10 rebounds) starred for the Pistons, who had their three-game winning streak ended.
The Chicago Bulls slumped to a third successive loss, beaten 106-101 at the Milwaukee Bucks.
Chicago had won six in a row before back-to-back defeats to the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards.
And it got worse for the Bulls as the Bucks used an 8-0 run late in the fourth quarter to rally to victory in Milwaukee.
Giannis Antetokounmpo posted 29 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double display for the Bucks, while Jimmy Butler's 30 points led the Bulls.
The Cleveland Cavaliers made it eight straight wins after edging the Dallas Mavericks 110-107 in overtime.
LeBron James helped the Cavs maintain their unbeaten streak thanks to his 27 points and 10 rebounds.
Elsewhere, Kevin Durant guided the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 101-96 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Indiana Pacers accounted for the Phoenix Suns 116-97, the Houston Rockets were 107-91 winners over the Memphis Grizzlies, the New York Knicks trumped the Boston Celtics 120-114, while the Los Angeles Lakers claimed a rare win by beating the New Orleans Pelicans 95-91.
