Lakers guard Lonzo Ball trying to get more 'engaged'
Lonzo Ball hopes he can start producing better performances for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Lonzo Ball is looking to be a better player for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ball is averaging 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. All of his numbers are down from his rookie year in Los Angeles.
"I've just got to rebound the ball, get engaged, more energy, just do what I can to get myself going," Ball said on Tuesday, via ESPN.
The 21-year-old underwent offseason knee surgery and said he has not yet found the flow of the game.
"For me, it's going to start on defense, picking up [guards], getting some steals, rebounding the ball," Ball said. "When I do that, my shot starts falling, I feel more in the game."
The Lakers are 2-5 through seven games this season and Ball is not satisfied with how things have gone for him.
"Just not doing my job," Ball said.
Los Angeles face Dallas on Wednesday and Portland three days later.
