The New York Yankees may be rumoured sellers at the trade deadline, but they continued their good form since the MLB All-Star break by coming back to beat the National League-leading San Francisco Giants 3-2 on Friday.
San Francisco - now losers of six successive games - were able to tie the contest via relievers Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller in the eighth inning before the Yankees secured the winning run after Brandon Crawford's third error of the game allowed Chase Headley to score.
With the win, the Yankees (49-47) improved to 4-1 since the break.
Giants starter Madison Bumgarner allowed runs in each of the first two innings before blanking the Yankees in his last five innings in New York.
