Trinh-Duc misses out on France RWC squad
France have named their final 31-man squad for the Rugby World Cup and Francois Trinh-Duc is the most notable omission.
Francois Trinh-Duc is among those to have missed out on a place in France's finalised squad for the Rugby World Cup.
The 28-year-old fly-half, part of the France 22 that narrowly lost the 2011 final to New Zealand, missed the cut when coach Philippe Saint-Andre trimmed a 36-man party to 31 on Sunday.
Frederic Michalak and Remi Tales have been preferred as options for the number 10 jersey, the former having become his country's record points-scorer in Tests during Saturday's 25-20 victory over England in Paris.
Xavier Chiocci, Sebastien Vahaamahina, Loann Goujon and Remi Lamerat are the other players to have been cut by Saint-Andre.
Thierry Dusautoir will again captain France, who begin their campaign against Italy at Twickenham on September 19.
Also in Pool D alongside France and Italy are Ireland, Canada and Romania.
