Sharapova excited by Fed Cup opportunity
World number four Maria Sharapova is ready for an "incredible opportunity" at the Fed Cup final with Russia this weekend.
Maria Sharapova hopes to end 2015 by adding a new trophy to her collection as part of Russia's team for the Fed Cup final in Prague.
The world number four will leadher country against defending champions Czech Republic this weekend.
Sharapova's season was blighted by injury, although she reached the semi-finals of the WTA Finals before being beaten by Petra Kvitova - who she could meet again this weekend.
"It's a new experience," said Sharapova. "I’ve been part of the team on different occasions but never in the final. There's an incredible opportunity for me.
"[This] is a great way to finish off the year.
"Playing two of the best players in the top 10 will be a great opportunity and a great challenge and I hope that we will have a good weekend.
"We are going into this final as underdogs."
