Pulu called into All Blacks squad after Smith withdrawal
New Zealand have added Augustine Pulu to the squad for Saturday's Test against Australia as injury cover following Aaron Smith's withdrawal.
Augustine Pulu has been added to the New Zealand squad for the Bledisloe Cup clash against Australia this weekend.
Counties Manukau scrum-half Pulu, capped twice by the All Blacks previously and part of the rugby sevens team at Rio 2016, has been added to the group for Saturday's match at Eden Park as injury cover.
The 26-year-old's call-up followed the decision of Aaron Smith to voluntarily stand down following a New Zealand Rugby misconduct hearing on Monday.
Smith was suspended for the previous 57-15 win against South Africa in the Rugby Championship after being seen entering an airport toilet cubicle with a female.
Pulu is expected to be available for Counties Manukau's Mitre 10 Cup semi-final against defending champions Canterbury on Sunday, providing there are no injuries to All Black pair TJ Perenara and Tawera Kerr-Barlow.
