Anscombe starts as Gatland makes six changes
Liam Williams and Paul James returns from injury, while Gareth Anscombe also starts in Wales' final Pool A clash with Australia.
Gareth Anscombe will make his first international start in a Wales side showing six changes for their Rugby World Cup Pool A decider against Australia at Twickenham on Saturday.
The versatile New Zealand-born Anscombe, who was drafted into the squad as a replacement for injury-hit Wales, will start in a new-look back three alongside Alex Cuthbert and Liam Williams.
Williams was passed fit after missing the victory over Fiji last Friday due to the concussion he suffered in the victory over England.
George North moves to outside centre to partner Jamie Roberts, while the fit-again Paul James returns to the front row and Luke Charteris also starts.
Captain Sam Warburton moves to blindside flanker for a game Wales must win to ensure they top the pool and face Scotland or Japan in the quarter-finals rather than Pool B winners South Africa.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland said: "Saturday is another huge encounter and both sides will be coming in with momentum and looking to top Pool A.
"We have been impressed with Australia so far in this competition and we know a step up is required at Twickenham this weekend. It is still all to play for in terms of the knock-out phases.
"We've trained well this week, had a full squad to pick from and it is great to welcome back players from injury."
