Allen's World Cup likely to be over amid more Wales injury woe
Six Wales players provided further injury concerns for Warren Gatland on Sunday and Cory Allen appears set to leave the squad.
Cory Allen's Rugby World Cup looks to be over courtesy of a hamstring tear, while Wales have injury concerns over a host of other players following their 54-9 victory over Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium.
Wales' build-up to the global showpiece had been blighted by injuries, with Leigh Halfpenny, Rhys Webb and Eli Walker - Halfpenny's initial replacement - all forced out of Warren Gatland's 31-man squad.
Gatland chose to rest a number of senior players for his side's opening Pool A game, with an eye on next weekend's clash against England, but six of the 23 picked to face Uruguay picked up problems of varying seriousness.
Liam Williams, Paul James, Samson Lee, Aaron Jarvis and Dan Lydiate all took knocks, while Allen appears to have suffered the most damaging blow after scoring a hat-trick in the first half.
"The medics said it looks like Cory's the one who has a significant tear in his hamstring and at this stage it looks like he will definitely need to be replaced." said Gatland.
Summarising his other injury worries, Wales' coach added: "Liam Williams had a knock on the thigh but it's too early to see for next week [when Wales face England]. We'll have to wait 24 hours to make an assessment.
"Samson Lee and Paul James got tight calves. Aaron Jarvis popped some rib cartilage, which isn't too serious but is a lot of pain and he put the body on the line.
"We may have to make some tough decisions with the props; at the moment we've only got three and we may need to make a difficult call and replace one of the props. But we've got 24 hours to make a decision on that.
"Dan Lydiate had a head assessment and has passed that which is great - he will be able to play a full part in training next week.
"We're not training until Wednesday so the players with knocks and niggles will have until then to be fit."
