Winston shines, Dalton struggles for Bengals
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first-team offense and defense shined in Monday's preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jameis Winston - the number one overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft - had an impressive pre-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 25-11.
The 21-year-old Tampa quarterback ended the game eight-of-13 for 90 yards, although he was not the Bucs' best QB versus Cincinnati, with Mike Glennon earning that honour with 10-for-15 and a total of 121 yards.
The Buccaneers got the ball first and Winston led the offense downfield on an eight-play, 80-yard drive capped off by his one-yard touchdown run.
Winston was only on the field for four drives, and appeared to get injured on the fourth after taking a hard sack.
The former Heisman Trophy winner appeared to hurt his ankle in the tackle and he came away limping.
Winston stayed in the game for two more plays before Tampa punted and he did not return when the Bucs regained the ball, although the host broadcaster claimed it had nothing to do with any potential injury.
Bucs running back Doug Martin also impressed with 59 yards from six carries, while Tampa's defense held Cincinnati to minus two yards in the first quarter.
Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton struggled as he finished 6-of-13 for 46 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
