Thomas to play on with Seahawks next season
Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas hinted at retirement after breaking his leg earlier in December, but he will play on in 2017.
Earl Thomas is not done playing NFL, after the Seattle Seahawks safety used social media to confirm his intentions for next season.
Thomas suffered a gruesome leg injury against the Carolina Panthers earlier this month as he hinted at retirement shortly afterwards.
The 27-year-old, however, tweeted out his plan to return in 2017.
"I'll def be back next year," wrote Thomas, who broke his leg while breaking up a pass.
Before he revealed his decision to return, Thomas had tweeted a get-well message to receiver Tyler Lockett, who also suffered a broken leg on Saturday.
He later said he "can't watch football if it's going to make me feel this sick" after Seattle's 34-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
