The Pole has not only earned his first ATP title, but also rocketed up the ATP rankings, thanks to his 6-3 2-6 7-6 (7-5) victory in just under two and a half hours.
Having already beaten Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev to reach the showpiece, Majchrzak's victory over De Minaur means he has recorded three straight top-10 wins.
Majchrzak won the first three games to put himself in a commanding position, and it was too big a deficit for De Minaur to overturn.
However, after the pair traded breaks at the start of the second set, De Minaur reeled off four straight games to force a decider, dropping just five points in that run.
It was an incredibly tight third set, with Majchrzak going a break up, only for the Australian to wipe it out immediately as they went to a tie-break.
Majchrazak raced into 3-0 and then 5-2 leads, but De Minaur won three straight points to get back on level terms. He was helpless on the final two, though, with the 30-year-old converting his first championship point.
