Klopp has won just one of his first four games in charge of Germany, which sits third in UEFA Nations League Group A2, three points behind Greece and Netherlands.

Indeed, Greece got the better of Germany in Klopp's second game in charge, winning 2-1, and there was to be no revenge for Klopp's team on Monday (AEDT).

Germany did think they had taken the lead midway through the first half at Stadio Toumbas, but Jonathan Burkardt saw his goal disallowed for a handball in the build-up.

The lively Derry Scherhant also went close before half-time, but some changes from Greece boss Ivan Jovanovic helped the hosts tighten matters up after the break.

Giorgos Masouras could well have won it for Greece, but he headed wide from a free header.

Philipp Treu, however, had the best chance to settle the contest, only to slice over late on.
