Leganes have announced the signing of Alvaro Morata on a season-long loan deal from Como.
Morata joins Spanish second-division side Leganes on loan
Despite helping Como qualify for the Champions League last season, Alvaro Morata will spend the 2026-27 campaign on loan with Leganes.
The 33-year-old has joined the Spanish second-division side, who also have an option to make the move permanent, after just one season with Como.
Morata scored just one goal and provided one assist in 30 games across all competitions for Como, who qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
The striker will play his club football in his native Spain for the first time since the 2023-24 season, when he represented Atletico Madrid.
Morata's only experience in the second tier of Spanish football came with Real Madrid Castilla, as he scored 12 goals in 18 appearances during the 2012-13 campaign.
He will now look to help Leganes earn promotion back to LaLiga, where they have not competed since 2024-25.
Leganes finished 16th in the second division last season, just six points above the drop zone.
