Rommens keeps Rangers in pursuit of Hearts
Rangers moved within three points of Scottish Premiership leader Hearts after Tuur Rommens's strike proved the difference in a 1-0 win away at St. Mirren.
Danny Rohl's side remains third in the table, just one point behind second-placed Celtic and with Hearts in striking distance after their loss to Kilmarnock a day earlier.
Rangers controlled the opening proceedings before Nicolas Raskin's delightful delivery found Rommens, who lost his marker and converted in the 31st minute for his first goal for the club.
Youssef Chermiti then somehow volleyed wide from close range before half-time, with an opportunity that should have put the visitors out of sight.
The away side did not let up in the second half either, with St. Mirren goalkeeper Shamal George denying both Ryan Naderi and James Tavernier.
Mark O'Hara had a chance to level but scuffed a presentable opening as managerless St. Mirren failed to mount a comeback.
