Stunning Bolton comeback sinks Huddersfield
Bolton Wanderers delivered one of the most dramatic comebacks of the season, netting twice in stoppage time to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Huddersfield Town.
Both sides came into the game on the back of defeats, looking to bounce back and find the form that saw them both labelled as promotion favourites early on.
Huddersfield flew out of the blocks, overwhelming Bolton with its intense pressing and creative movement. It took only seven minutes for the deadlock to be broken, Chelsea loanee and standout player Leo Castledine nodding home from a corner after finding himself in acres of space.
The visitor looked shell-shocked, while the Terriers looked to drive home their advantage.
Bolton began to grow into the game, forcing Huddersfield goalkeeper Lee Nicholls into two smart saves.
After the break, it was Bolton which began to control proceedings, but struggled to break down a dogged Huddersfield defence, with the Terriers still threatening on the counter attack.
John McAtee had a golden opportunity to get Bolton back on level terms, rounding Nicholls but unable to force the ball home.
The visitor looked to have lost hope with the clock ticking past 90 minute, but the dangerous Amario Cozier-Duberry made space before picking out Sam Dalby in the box, his header levelling the game up in the 93rd minute. What a moment to get your first goal for the club!
However, there was yet more drama to come.
Almost immediately from the restart, Bolton countered and found Mason Burstow driving towards goal. He fed Cozier-Duberry who finished emphatically to complete a remarkable stoppage time turnaround.
What looked like being a night to forget for the sold out away support ended up being one of the most memorable endings to a game you'll see - the perfect way for Bolton to secure their first away win since April.
