Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has again dismissed rumours linking Michael Olise with a blockbuster transfer to Real Madrid this summer. 

Olise has been at the centre of one of the most persistent sagas of the transfer window following his sensational season for Vincent Kompany's side in 2025-26. 

The 24-year-old registered 48 goal involvements across all competitions last term (22 goals, 26 assists), a total only bettered by Harry Kane (68) in Europe's top five leagues. 

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes (142) was the only player to create more chances than Olise's 123 in the continent's top five divisions, thus attracting huge interest. 

And Madrid, fresh from enduring a second season without silverware and announcing the return of Jose Mourinho, had been linked with a deal for the France star. 

However, Los Blancos recently released a statement denying they had been in contact with Bayern regarding Olise, and Freund has reiterated his stance on the situation. 

"This is not a topic for us at all," Freund told reporters on Saturday, following Bayern's 2-1 defeat to third-tier Wehen Wiesbaden in their first pre-season friendly. 

"We are delighted that Michael Olise has returned from his holiday. He will continue to play an important role at Bayern Munich this season, just like last year."

Olise ended the Bundesliga season with 15 goals and 19 assists, a new record for a winger since Opta data collection began in the German top flight in 2004-05. 

He then starred in France's run to the semi-finals of the World Cup, becoming the first player on record (since 1966) to record seven assists in a single edition of the tournament.

Florentino Perez pledged to spend big on a 'Galactico' player prior to winning Madrid's presidential election, and the club have already been busy in the transfer market. 

Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva have joined on free transfers, while full-backs Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella have arrived from Inter and Chelsea, respectively. 

But Perez's promise of a big-money arrival could still come to fruition, with reports emerging that they have had a €100m bid turned down for RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande. 

Diomande has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool following his impressive displays for Ivory Coast at this summer's World Cup. 

With those reports emerging, rumours have begun to swirl around Vinicius Junior's future in the Spanish capital, with Arsenal reportedly exploring a move for the Brazilian.
