Australia's Bos to miss three months for Feyenoord
Australia's star left-back Jordy Bos will miss the first three months of the new season for Feyenoord after a knee injury at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Dutch club announced on Sunday (AEST).
Feyenoord revealed Bos underwent successful surgery havong returned from the Socceroos campaign at the FIFA World Cup.
His left knee was in a brace after he went off having been clattered into during the first half of the Socceroos' Round of 32 loss to Egypt on penalties in Dallas on 4 July (AEST).
The 23-year-old started all Australia's matches at the tournament, having overcome a run of serious hamstring injuries to earn a move to Feyenoord where he scored four goals in 36 matches in his first season after moving from Westerlo in Belgium.
He was rated as one of the fastest runners at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and will be missed by Feyenoord when it starts its Eredivisie season.
Feyenoord started its pre-season campaign on a more positive note, beating Club Brugge 3-1 in a friendly on Sunday (AEST).
