Real Madrid closing in on bumper Diomande signing
Real Madrid appears set to win the race to sign RB Leipzig attacker Jan Diomande, according to the latest reports.
The 19 year-old starred for the Bundesliga club last season, scoring 12 goals from 33 appearances in the German top flight.
Diomande capped a fine domestic season by becoming the youngest player to be selected for Ivory Coast at a FIFA World Cup, achieving the milestone at 19 years and 223 days.
The pacy winger produced three eye-catching performances to spark a frenzy of transfer speculation, with the likes of PSG, Liverpool and Arsenal all linked with a move for the player.
But it's Jose Mourinho's Madrid which appears to have won the race, with The Athletic's David Ornstein reporting that an agreement is likely to be soon, despite the German club - which rejected a first bid from the Spanish giant - on the cusp of rejecting a second, improved offer.
A move to LaLiga would represent a full-circle moment for Diomande, who began his career at Leganes.
