Kane revels in 'emotional' Bundesliga title
Harry Kane says it was like a "switch went off" on his emotions when Bayern Munich's title was confirmed, as he won the first major trophy of his career.
Kane's long wait for a team trophy was well-documented as he lost two Carabao Cup finals and the 2018-2019 Champions League showpiece with Tottenham, while he also captained England as it finished as runner-up at Euro 2020 and 2024.
In his first season in Germany, Bayern missed out on the Bundesliga title to the unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen, which ended the Bavarians' 11-year streak of finishing top of the league.
However, Bayern clinched the title with two games remaining on 4 May, as Leverkusen's 2-2 draw at Freiburg handed it the Meisterschale.
"It was almost like a switch went off, and all of a sudden it was just a lot of emotion, a lot of joy," he said. "We had a great night that night. Of course, I'm the one in the limelight because of my journey.
"But my journey isn't just myself. It's with a lot of my family, a lot of my friends who have been with me.
"They've been there for the ups and downs. They share the same emotion I do, so it was nice to share the pitch and moment with them.
"[The trophy parade] was an amazing experience, to be honest."
"Obviously, I've seen celebrations like this from afar, but until you experience it yourself, it's hard to put into words."
Kane also secured the Golden Boot for the second season running after scoring his 26th league goal of the campaign in Bayern's 4-0 victory over Hoffenheim on the final day.
He is the first player in Bundesliga history to be crowned top scorer in both of his first two seasons in the competition.
He is also just the second player to win the award in back-to-back campaigns since the turn of the century, after Robert Lewandowski enjoyed a run of five successive seasons at the top of the charts.
"I enjoy every one [Golden Boot]," Kane said, with this his fifth overall across England and Germany.
"I think this one's even more special because we won the title with it as well.
"Obviously, I've won a few in my career, and you can never really celebrate that, because you always will be disappointed that the season hasn't finished the way you wanted to.
"So yes, to have that, plus the title, was just a perfect way to finish the season."
