Ronaldo trolls Haaland and Ligue 1 at awards night
Cristiano Ronaldo said that proving doubters wrong is what drives him to keep performing while also trolling stars like Erling Haaland at an awards event in United Arab Emirates.
The Portuguese five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who will soon be 39 years old, made the comments at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, saying her was proud to beat the Manchester City striker for goals scored in 2023.
"I was the best goalscorer this season," he said with a rye smile. "Imagine beating those animals, the young lions like Haaland fo example, with the goals. So I’m proud. I'm 39 soon, and I'm still looking good, so I'm proud."
Ronaldo also said he believed the Saudi Pro League, which he joined a year ago, is now better than France's top tier Ligue 1.
