Ajax thumps Celtic in pre-season friendly
Steven Berghuis scored a double as Ajax put SPFL defending champion Celtic to the sword 5-1 in a pre-season friendly at picturesque Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in Como.
Berghuis opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before Brendan Rodgers' men hit back through Yang Hyun-Jun.
The match seemed evenly poised at the half-time break with the sides locked at 1-1.
Ajax doubled its lead through Davy Klaassen shortly after the restart, before adding another three to run out a comfortable winner.
