Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez has been lacking confidence as of late, and Arsene Wenger believes that the Chilean host lost the physical energy that makes Alexis such a special player, whilst under Mourinho at United.

Reflecting on the match, Wenger also surmised that Juventus were just too comfortable and that leads to mistakes that saw them lose the contest. "I must say that Juventus were fantastic for 84 minutes, but it shows that when you play fantastically well you can still lose a big game like that. They were too comfortable!"

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring against his former club with a stunning goal, and Wenger was full of praise for the Portuguese attacker. "It's such a fantastic goal, it surprises us all. We have seen him in so many games, but we are still suprised because he does the unexpected."
