Balogun lidera el impulso de Mónaco
A hot streak for USMNT’s Folarin Balogun has propelled Monaco into the Champions League chase
A sizzling run of form for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun has come at the perfect time for the footballer’s club and country. The American forward is looking to score against Paris FC live on beIN SPORTS on Friday, to make it seven Ligue 1 matches in a row where Balogun has found the back of the net.
The last of those goals was a delightful, chip against Marseille, a sign of what the striker could be capable of in what is set to be a tough but vital World Cup campaign for the USMNT.
La increíble racha del Mónaco
Balogun's form has contributed to an incredible record of Monaco racking up seven Ligue 1 games in a row, including back-to-back victories over Lyon and Marseille in the past two matches. As recently as January Monaco was looking lost in mid-table, but this run of victories has propelled the Mediterranean side up the Ligue 1 standings into fifth and just one point from the top three and qualification for next season’s Champions League places.
Cautela pese al gran momento
The former Belgian international defender and Monaco coach since October 2025, Sebastien Pocognoli, is following tradition though by not taking his team’s form for granted: “there are smiles but also an awareness of a not-so-distant past that we don’t want to revisit.” Monaco has a few injury concerns ahead of the visit to take on a mid-table Paris FC side that is on a six-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1, enough to secure safety in the team’s debut campaign in the top-flight.
Bajas y lo que está en juego
Aleksandr Golovin is out of the squad through injury and Maghnes Akliouche is a doubt after picking up a knock in last week’s win over Marseille. A victory for Monaco on Friday would lift the team temporarily into third spot, although Marseille playing straight after could make that position short-lived.
