UEFA Champions League - Moussa Sissoko Reaction
Moussa Sissoko reflected on a dissapointing night for Spurs in the Champions League
First-half substitute Moussa Sissoko failed to change the game as Spurs lost 1-0 at home to Ajax this evening. Still, the French midfielder believes his side has enough to make the Champions League final.
"I am very disappointed with the result. We knew to win the first game was important, especially not trying to concede a goal but we couldn't get a clean sheet. We lost the first leg."
"We have a second game to play in one week and we will go there to try and go to the final."
South Korean attacker Son Min Heung will return to the side following suspension and Sissoko believes he can make a difference in the second leg, but the side must focus on the task at hand in the Premier League before concentrating on the second leg.
"We know the quality of Son, he has a big impact in the team. We will be very happy to have him the second leg, hopefully, he can help us get to the final. It won't be an easy game but we before that we have a massive game against Bournemouth so we have to win that game and build the confidence and come back in the competition."
Donny van de Beek was the difference for Ajax on the night, but Sissoko's introduction saw Spurs control the game, however, they were unable to breakdown the Ajax backline. Still, the French midfielder insisted that all is to play for in the second half.
"I tried to bring a lot of impact in the middle because I think first-half that was missing so I tried to help the team, but that was not enough to help the team. As I said, this is not over and i'm sure we can go there and beat them and qualification."
