Pirlo satisfied but calls for Juventus to become less selfish
Juventus must become more selfless, according to coach Andrea Pirlo.
Andrea Pirlo urged Juventus to become less selfish after a 4-1 Champions League victory at Ferencvaros on Wednesday.
Juve eased to a Group G win in Hungary, but they needed three goals in the final half-hour to move onto six points.
Alvaro Morata scored a brace before a Paulo Dybala strike and Lasha Dvali own goal, with Juve denied a clean sheet by Franck Boli in the 90th minute.
While he was pleased with the win, Juve coach Pirlo wants improvement from his team.
"I am satisfied with the result, but we could have done much better in terms of the game," he told Sky Sport.
"It was important to get a result, but obviously we have to improve."
Pirlo added: "I am someone who talks a lot with the players, then they go on the pitch and the choices are theirs.
"It is important, however, that these choices are right. We need to be less selfish and close games earlier."
Juve have now won 10 of their past 14 away Champions League group stage matches, including four in a row.
They played the second half against Ferencvaros without Arthur and Pirlo said the midfielder was unwell.
"Arthur wasn't feeling well as soon as he got on the pitch. He had indigestion, he had stomach issues. Therefore, he felt like he had to throw up," Pirlo told a news conference.
"We kept him on the pitch, he wanted to stay on the pitch until the end of the first half, however, our intention was to replace him immediately, because he couldn't run and he almost couldn't breathe."
Sitting third in Serie A, Juventus visit Lazio on Sunday.
