Gilles Muller's impressive 2017 continued at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships on Sunday as he edged a serve-dominated final against Ivo Karlovic.
Muller claimed the first title of his career in Sydney earlier this year and added the 's-Hertogenbosch crown to his tally with a 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-4) victory.
Given both players' strength on serve there was not a single break in the 93 minutes on court, instead aces became their competition with Muller edging it 22-19.
With little between them throughout the match, tie-breaks were needed to separate them in front of a packed Centre Court.
The opening set swung Muller's way early in the breaker, but it was a crucial mini-break at 5-5 that enabled him to serve out for a 1-0 lead.
In similar fashion there was nothing to split the pair in the second and once again Karlovic fluffed his lines under pressure to see Muller celebrating another title.
