Allertova continues China run to set up Jankovic final
Sara Errani met the same fate as Simona Halep at the Guangzhou International Women's Open as she lost to Denisa Allertova in the last four.
Denisa Allertova continued to upset the odds as she defeated Sara Errani to set up a Guangzhou International Women's Open final against Jelena Jankovic.
On Thursday, Allertova recorded the biggest win of her young career by defeating world number two Simona Halep - her first victory over a top-five player.
The Czech proved that was no fluke in Friday's semi-final against US Open finalist and third seed Errani as she record a 7-5 6-2 victory.
Allertova, 22, will now have the opportunity to win her maiden title on the WTA Tour.
Doing so will be no easy feat, though, as she comes up against fourth seed Jelena Jankovic.
World number 25 Jankovic was taken the distance in a 6-3 2-6 7-5 triumph over Yanina Wickmayer, the Serbian coming through a tense tussle in two hours and 20 minutes.
