Metta World Peace returns to Lakers
After playing in China and Italy, Metta World Peace is back in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Veteran forward Metta World Peace has re-joined the Los Angeles Galaxy, the NBA team announced on Thursday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but 2004 NBA All-Star Metta World Peace has reportedly signed a one-year contract.
The 35-year-old, who spent four seasons in Los Angeles between 2009 and 2013, helped the Lakers win a championship in 2010 before he was waived via the amnesty clause three years later.
Metta World Peace signed with the New York Knicks in 2013, but did not make much of an impact in 29 appearances. His last NBA game was in February 2014.
He has since played in China and Italy, but could not agree on a contract with his Italian club Pallacanestro Cantu in July and has been a free agent.
Metta World Peace boasts a career average of 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 931 NBA appearances with the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Knicks and Lakers.
