Iran ease to opening second-round win
Iran remain unbeaten in the FIBA Asia Championship following an emphatic win over Hong Kong.
Defending champions Iran began the second round of the FIBA Asia Championship by hammering Hong Kong 111-56.
Mohammad Jamshidi starred for Iran with 22 points in an emphatic victory, with Mohammadsamad Nik Khahbahrami also contributing with 15.
Group E rivals Philippines, who lost to Iran in the 2013 final, beat Japan 73-66 and India overcame Palestine 73-70.
In Group F South Korea turned around a 43-32 half-time deficit to defeat Lebanon, putting up 53 second-half points to claim an 85-71 success.
Elsewhere, China were 75-62 winners over Kazakhstan, and Jordan overcame Qatar 84-73.
In the 13th-16th place semi-finals, Kuwait beat Malaysia 83-61 to set up a 13th-place match with Chinese Taipei, who comfortably saw off Singapore 111-65.
