Bogut breaks nose in Warriors win, Pacers down Cavs
Andrew Bogut was a casualty as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets in NBA pre-season.
A broken nose to Andrew Bogut was the only downside of an otherwise successful warm-up for the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
Bogut was hurt in the second quarter of the Warriors' 123-101 NBA pre-season win against the Houston Rockets.
The championship-winning centre was struck in the face as K.J. McDaniels attempted a dunk.
Bogut did not return to the floor and finished with six points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a little over 11 minutes.
The reigning champions were led by MVP Steph Curry, who posted 19 points and six assists in 16:42.
Klay Thompson contributed 16 points.
McDaniels was the pick of the Rockets players, scoring 20 points in the absence of stars James Harden, Dwight Howard, Ty Lawson and Trevor Ariza.
Paul George, meanwhile, led the Indiana Pacers past the LeBron James-less Cleveland Cavaliers 107-85.
George sank 17 points as the Cavaliers were kept winless through five games in pre-season.
James was rested for a second consecutive game and Timofey Mozgov was the leading Cavs point-getter with 16 and six rebounds.
