Ferrari have launched their brand new SF70H, the latest car the Italian constructor will hope can challenge the dominance of Mercedes in 2017.

In the latest Formula One car launch this week, Ferrari revealed the fruit of their labours online as they bid to improve on a third-place finish in the Constructors' Championship last season.

A host of new aerodynamic rules have been implemented for 2017 in the hope of making cars quicker and as such Ferrari have focused their efforts on striking a balance between downforce and aerodynamic resistance.

Among the changes is an arrow-shaped front wing and a lengthened nose, while Ferrari describe their new V6 power unit as a "definite step forward" as they bid to bridge the engine gap to Mercedes.

"The lengthened nose and the arrow-shaped wing are a consequence of the regulations, as is the obvious fin on the engine cover and the more complex aero appendages ahead of the air intakes on the sidepods, whose unusual shape was designed in harmony with the front crash structure," a Ferrari statement read.

"Visible at the front is a duct that has an aerodynamic role, while behind the driver, the roll-hoop, which incorporates the engine air intake has been completely redesigned.

"Also updated is the suspension layout, which still retains a push rod design at the front with pull rods at the rear."

Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen are due to drive the 2017 car for the first time at Ferrari's Fiorana test track on Friday.

After a winless 2016, the pressure is on Ferrari to deliver quickly with the SF70H.
