Solomons extends Edinburgh stay
After guiding Edinburgh to become the first Scottish side to reach a European final, Alan Solomons will remain at Murrayfield until 2017.
Alan Solomons has extended his contract as coach of Edinburgh until June 2017.
The Scottish side began the Pro12 season in an impressive manner, winning four consecutive matches before slipping down the table.
Edinburgh sit top of their pool in the European Challenge Cup – which they reached the final of last term – and Solomons wants to build on the foundations he has laid since 2013.
"While we have made good progress over the past two seasons, we still have some way to go and I am pleased to be able to continue to build on what we have achieved," he said in a statement.
Scottish Rugby chief executive Mark Dodson praised Solomons' impact in the capital.
"Alan is successfully building on the improved performances achieved by Edinburgh Rugby last season, which saw them reach the European Challenge Cup Final and secure the 1872 Cup," he added.
"The club has made a positive start to the new season and we wanted to ensure Alan was able to continue to develop the vision he started in 2013.
"We are therefore very pleased he has committed to Edinburgh through to 2017."
