Football Association of the Czech Republic was founded in 1901
The Czech national football team played its first ever international friendly game in 1903 (Under the name Bohemia which was later become Czech Republic) against Hungary, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of their European counterparts.
Czech Republic has made their biggest win in football history against Andorra 8-1 in 2008 and recorded two time victory 7-1 over San Marino in 2006 and 2009.
The biggest loss suffered by Czech Republic were at the hands of Switzerland 0-3 in 1994, 0-3 against Norway in 2011, 1-4 against Russia in 2012 and 0-3 against Denmark in 2013.
Historically, the most greater achievements in the history of Czech Republic team (also in its former name Czechoslovakia) that they confidently qualified nine times into FIFA World Cup Finals, as well as they clinched the runner –up place two times in FIFA World Cup 1934 and 1962.
Euro Appearances:
Czech Republic will appear in UEFA Euro for the ninth time. Their most considerable achievements in this continental championship that they managed in the runner-up place behind Germany in 1996 UEFA Euro Cup. In their eight time appearance the team played a total 29 games, recorded 13 win, 5 draw , 11 defeats , scored 40 goals and conceded 38 goals.
The Coach
Pavel Vrba ( 52 years Old), football manager , has been coaching the Czech Republic team since 2014 and is known as the key element that guided the Czech Republic team to cruise into 2016 UEFA Euro Finals in France.
Despite this 2016 UEFA Euro finals will be his first international appearance at the teams level, but he is widely reputed in home country and has been named as the best Czech coach five times consecutively since 2010 to 2014, that in recognition to his distinguished coaching career with many local clubs.
Road to France
Czech team won the first place in their respective group (A) in 2016 UEFA Euro qualifiers to finish ahead of Iceland, Turkey and Netherlands respectively. They collected 22 points from 7 wins, one draw and 2 defeats.
