Netherlands heading home after Dharamsala washout
Rain washed out Oman's World Twenty20 match against Netherlands, eliminating the latter from the tournament at the earliest opportunity.
Netherlands' hopes of reaching the Super 10 phase of the World Twenty20 ended on Friday when persistent rain forced the abandonment of their second Group A game with Oman in Dharamsala.
Defeat to Bangladesh in the opening round of matches left Peter Borren's side requiring a victory over Oman, who recorded a shock win against Ireland in their first game.
However, although a belated toss took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium after morning showers, no play was possible as the heavens soon opened again.
Ireland were facing the same fate as Netherlands if the rain did not relent ahead of their pool match with Bangladesh at the same venue, scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT.
