Lynn to miss up to seven months after shoulder surgery
Chris Lynn has undergone surgery on his shoulder, ruling the explosive Australia batsman out for up to seven months.
Australia batsman Chris Lynn is set to miss up to seven months after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.
The Brisbane Heat star opted to have a shoulder reconstruction after an injury suffered during the Indian Premier League (IPL) did not improve as hoped.
Lynn, who has played five Twenty20s and one one-day international for Australia, said surgery was the best option.
"Having seen someone like Johnathan Thurston go through something similar during the State of Origin series, I am confident that I've made the right call to have this fixed now," he said.
"I had been able to get through my shoulder problems with careful management before now, but long-term this is the best thing.
"There's never an ideal time to be injured but I can reset my goals now and focus on getting strong and healthy, and then getting back to doing what I love which is playing the game."
