Kumar Sangakkara: A career in numbers
After he called time on a stellar international career, we take a look at the remarkable statistics of Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara.
Kumar Sangakkara's international career came to an end on Monday, after a stunning 15 years which has seen the elegant left-hander become a national hero for Sri Lanka.
Sangakkara's final appearance ended in disappointment as his side fell to a 278-run defeat at the hands of India in the second Test in Colombo, but that could not take the gloss off a glittering career.
Here, we look at some of the numbers Sangakkara - widely adored and respected by team-mates and opponents alike - has clocked up during his time in the game.
- 5.7.2000: The date of Sangakkara's international bow, a five-wicket ODI win over Pakistan in which he scored 35.
