Valencia peg back Real, Barca one win from final
Real Madrid's hopes of winning a Eurobasket and Liga ACB double suffered a setback when they lost to Valencia, while Barcelona beat Unicaja.
Valencia levelled the Liga ACB semi-final series against Real Madrid with a 93-89 away victory on Sunday, while Barcelona need just one win to reach the final after thrashing Unicaja 91-70.
European champions Real won the series opener 81-71 on Thursday, but were brought back down to earth in their own backyard and travel to La Fonteta for the next two games level at 1-1.
Montenegro international Bojan Dubljevic weighed on with 18 points for Valencia, who raced into a 31-22 lead after the first quarter and stretched their advantage to 53-41 at half-time.
Real dominated the third quarter and raised hopes of a stunning fightback by reducing the deficit to 73-71, but Valencia dug deep to see out the victory which leaves the series intriguingly poised.
Barcelona stand on the brink of another final after the defending champions once again proved too strong for Unicaja.
Barca coasted to a 91-60 victory in the first game of the series and carried on where they left off on Sunday, taking command in the second quarter.
The Catalans led 50-37 at the halfway mark after the two sides were locked at 23-23 at the end of the first quarter and pressed home their advantage in the final set to seal another resounding win.
